Compiling isnt even that CPU intensive unless you are doing a bunch of stuff with graphics which will only really count if you are programming for Mac not iOS. One piece of advice i can give you is dont order the laptop with the 4gigs of memory. When I was debating making the jump to a MBP I went back and forth between the 13 and 15-inch models a couple of times.
By default you may find the text a bit too small but go one or two settings lower and it should be fine.
With Apple-designed M1 chip. My brother has always had 15 inch MacBooks and they never fit on my lap. Its a 13 inch laptop and it has several options for screen scaling. The Z60m is on sale as it is an old model that uses the Pentium M not the Core Duo.
